Lantern Slide Studio
A slide studio where the deck is a JavaScript script, every slide is a GLSL shader that gets its words as a texture, and every transition is a shader too.

Subscribe →A slide studio where the deck is a script and every slide is a shader. deck.js runs top to bottom and returns a deck. Each slide is a GLSL fragment shader that gets the slide's words as a texture it can sample, bend, split and burn, and each move between slides is a shader over the two live slides. The deck rebuilds as you type.
- Write the deck in JavaScript:
deck()andd.slide()with eight layouts (title, center, statement, shout, bullets, quote, code, blank), free type anywhere, 13 palettes, any Google Font, and loops that generate slides. - Light it with GLSL: slide shaders read the words through
typeAtandinkAt, the pointer throughiMouse, and the last frame throughprev()for feedback.@paramlines become sliders in the slide panel. - Transitions as shaders: slam, rip, glitch, apparition, iris, burn, letters, zoom, fold, lens and dissolve. Each must show exactly the old slide at t = 0 and exactly the new one at t = 1, and the Transition card checks that. Hold or drag on the stage to stop or scrub a transition.
- Present: full screen, step through bullets with the arrow keys, and show speaker notes with N.
- Export: a standalone player as one HTML file, a PNG snapshot of the current slide, or the project as JSON to open again later. A console takes commands such as
studio.go(3)andstudio.param('punch', 2). - Ask the agent: with the hosted runtime, Claude can write or change a deck for you.
Eleven presets come with it: Phantasmagoria (a tour that ends with one slide per transition), Plain talk, Shader school (eight lessons), Blank, Black Iron Prison (after Philip K. Dick), Cathedrals of the void (after Philippe Druillet), Rings of Saturn, Fractal reality, Recursive cosmotechnics, Swiss riot and Tarot.
It is a close cousin of Lattice Deck, another programmable presentation workbench. In Lantern every slide and every transition is a GLSL shader over the slide's own typography.
