Living Comic Studio
Write a comic as a program: 3D actors, cameras, balloons and inks, staged into living pages, plus a chat room where messages become panels.
Write a comic as a short JavaScript program and watch it draw itself. A comic() has a cast, panels, sets, cameras and lines of dialogue; the studio stages it with 3D actors, poses them, frames each shot and inks the result into a page with balloons, captions and sound effects.
- Stories to start from: a wordless strip in the dunes, a tavern brawl, a night camp with a fox, a duel with speed lines, robot faces with morph-target emotions, a looping dance floor.
- Looks: the same scene as Moebius, ligne claire, noir, pastel, riso, blueprint, manga, engraving or sketch, with hatching, halftone and rough borders.
- Lettering: talk, thought, shout and whisper balloons, captions and hand-placed sound effects.
- Living panels: breathing, looping animation, parameters with sliders, seeded crowds and reusable fragments.
- Comic Chat room: messages turn into panels below the page; people join with a character, and scripted bots or Claude can take part.
The editor, preset library and the compiled IR are all in the page. Export a finished page as an image.
3D models: KayKit Adventurers (Kay Lousberg) and Kenney furniture/nature kits (CC0), plus character models from the three.js examples.
